trendIN' - 5 pants trends for Spring 2012

Last year we had maxi skirts, and while they are still a great spring trend, palazzo pants are a fun new twist to the comfortable style. Palazzo pants marched down the spring runways. The key to this pants trend is simple: the bigger the better! Great thing about these pants is that they come in a variety of colors, styles, and textures, making them a fitting choice for any event.
OK, so we’ve grasped the concept of going wide, but what to wear with them?  Pair them with loose tee, feminine blouse or tailored blazer. Stick to wedges or chunky heeled sandals – it gives ’70s vibe, which is when these pants were a big hit. For the end spice up your combination with wide-brimmed floppy hat.

Colored denim is so hot this spring, and pastel shades are the perfect subtle way to work the trend into your closet. Look for a pastel pair of jeans or pants and wear those with either a neutral top (brown, black, tan or gray) or take it a step further and do the colorblocking trend.

One of the hottest and biggest fashion trends for Spring 2012 is floral print pants. And not a ditsy print, which was in late season, but large, flashy prints in a variety of colors. Floral pants were featured on several spring runways including Peter Som, Vivienne Tam, Erdem and more. No matter what your personal style is, floral print pants seem to be a fairly easy trend to pull off, as there are so many options and patterns. Wear solid-color t-shirts, blouses and jackets to keep the look balanced.
Cropped pants are one of those classic items that never seem to go out of style. Different variations of cropped pants always seem to find their way on the most important runways. Cropped pants are an extremely comfortable fashion item being preferred by a lot of women due to the versatility they provide.
Are you shaking your head from left to right? I'm not a huge fan either, but for some laid-back outfit, why not if find some cool sporty pants. You don't have to go all sporty, you can match them with some more feminine top and interesting accessories.
